What we found

  • Previous stucco testing had left six circular openings approximately five inches across. The openings had been filled with caulking that needed removal before proper stucco repairs could begin.
  • The exterior also showed heavy pH burn, with noticeable discoloration that required additional surface preparation before painting.

Prep & repairs

  • We removed the caulking from all six openings, restored the stucco, and blended the texture with the surrounding walls. We also filled and sealed stucco cracks with Maxflex stucco patching material, allowing the repairs to dry before applying coatings.
  • Exterior preparation included pressure washing, scraping and sanding where needed, caulking appropriate joints, and spot priming. We then applied Sherwin-Williams Loxon Clear Sealer to prepare the pH-affected stucco for the Loxon XP satin finish coats.
  • The stucco received Sherwin-Williams Loxon XP in a satin finish. Trim, doors, and other specified exterior details were finished with Sherwin-Williams Latitude.
  • On the large rear patio, we installed a polyurea base coat, decorative chips, and a polyaspartic clear topcoat, creating a fresh, coordinated finish for the outdoor living space.

The result

The stucco received Sherwin-Williams Loxon XP in a satin finish. Trim, doors, and other specified exterior details were finished with Sherwin-Williams Latitude. On the large rear patio, we installed a polyurea base coat, decorative chips, and a polyaspartic clear topcoat, creating a fresh, coordinated finish for the outdoor living space. The Results The project took approximately eight days, with the schedule allowing drying time for the stucco repairs. The repaired sampling openings blended into the surrounding walls, while consistent color and crisp trim details gave the home a refreshed appearance. The decorative patio coating completed the transformation, bringing a finished look to the backyard gathering space.
