Stucco Repair & Painting · Jacksonville, FL · Northeast Florida
ⓘ Quick Answer for Homeowners
A New Leaf Painting is Jacksonville’s most reviewed stucco repair and repainting contractor, serving homeowners across Duval, St. Johns, Clay, and Nassau counties since 2001. With hundreds of stucco projects completed and exclusive use of elastomeric coating systems, Sherwin-Williams® Emerald, and Benjamin Moore® Aura, we specialize in crack repair, patching, elastomeric waterproofing, and full exterior repaints on existing stucco and EIFS homes throughout Northeast Florida. We don’t paint over problems. We fix them first.
Stucco is the most common exterior finish on Jacksonville homes — and in Northeast Florida’s climate, it takes a beating. Intense UV, 100% summer humidity, wind-driven rain, and the thermal expansion cycle that repeats thousands of times over the life of a home all take their toll. Hairline cracks aren’t cosmetic. They’re open water entry points that lead to moisture intrusion, wood rot, and mold behind your walls.
A New Leaf Painting specializes exclusively in stucco repair and repainting on existing homes and commercial buildings. That focus means every system, every product, and every technique we use is selected specifically for the conditions Jacksonville stucco actually faces. We assess every crack before we quote, repair what needs repairing before anything else is touched, and apply elastomeric coating systems engineered to waterproof, flex, and protect for the long term.
We don’t paint over problems.
We fix them first.
🏛 What We Specialize In
🌧 Why Jacksonville Stucco Needs a Specialist
Standard exterior paint on cracked stucco fails in 3 to 5 years in Jacksonville’s climate. Wind-driven rain, UV intensity, and humidity demand elastomeric coatings applied over properly repaired surfaces — not standard acrylic brushed over existing problems.
Our elastomeric systems are selected for high Perm-Ratings — allowing your stucco to breathe while remaining 100% waterproof. In Northeast Florida, where moisture-driven efflorescence is common, this technical distinction is what prevents the bubbling and delamination that standard masonry paint can’t stop.
Serving Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra, Fleming Island, Amelia Island & the First Coast since 2001.
After 25 years and 5,000+ projects across Northeast Florida, we know exactly what Jacksonville stucco needs — and what it doesn’t. Every estimate is honest, every scope is specific, and every project is backed by our Iron-Clad Guarantee.
Since 2001, our painters in Jacksonville, FL have helped homeowners and businesses across Northeast Florida protect, refresh, and transform their properties. I am a return customer with A New Leaf Painting. The painters were super polite and the work was completely expertly. They used a high quality paint and were fast and efficient. We did the whole house with one color and they did a portion of the ceiling. The pricing was fair and they matched a competitor. Highly recommended!Posted on Nancy MannTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. They were very helpful with suggestions and answering all of my questions.Posted on John MorleyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had 3 bathrooms skim coated and painted. Billy and Michael did a very professional job, walls, trim, doors look fabulous!Posted on Kim NTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We recently hired A New Leaf Painting to paint the interior of our home. It took about 4 days for Billy and Mike to complete the job (even the 20 foot walls - on a ladder!). I cannot say enough about how happy i am with their work! Billy and Mike arrived at 7:00am each morning to start working, they cleaned up after themselves , moved furniture for us, AND even fixed our front door that had been “dragging” without being asked! The communication that took place each day was also great! I love how our home looks and i will definitely refer the company to friends!! Thank you, A New Leaf!!Posted on Thom EhrhardtTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Could not be happier. Great crew, and kept me informed throughout. Weather was unpredictable the whole time, but they painted when it was dry, and protected areas when it wasn't. Detailed trim work is perfect, and their clean up was flawless. Outstanding. We interviewed three companies (a fourth never showed up). Price was competitive, but the thorough presentation, and explanation of the entire process, sold us on A New Deal Painting.Posted on Mary HTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. After having several rooms painted a couple of month ago, I decided to have A New Leaf Painting return to my home to paint the rest of the interior of my home. I’m very pleased with the results, again. I’m very particular about painting, I want perfect lines and no mess. They do excellent work! I had a total of 4 contractors give me bids and they were the only one who measured the room and had specifics in the contract. ( from painting crown molding to paint colors per room, etc..). If you want quality and a professional job- call A New Leaf Painting return.Posted on K ETrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Thomas Drake, the owner came out in person and provided a free estimate to remove wallpaper and repaint my Moms master and guest bathrooms. He emailed me the quote the same day. He was very courteous and thorough. The quote was reasonable so we scheduled the work. His crew arrived on time and did a fantastic job removing the wallpaper and painting the walls. They completed the job in 2 days. The crew was experienced, courteous, friendly and hardworking. I highly recommend A New Leaf Painting and will use them again for any future paint work.

Our Process · Stucco Repair & Repainting
Most painters show up and start spraying. We don’t. Every A New Leaf stucco project follows a disciplined 6-step restoration sequence. Skipping key prep steps is one reason many stucco paint jobs fail early — sometimes within 3 to 5 years — while a properly specified repair and coating system can last much longer.
Step One
Industrial pressure washing strips every layer of chalking, mildew, salt spray, and biological growth from the stucco surface. But it does something else too — the pressure reveals weak spots, hollow sections, and failing areas that aren’t visible to the eye until water is forced against them. This is why we call it a stress test, not just a wash.
Step Two
Before any repair or coating work begins, all landscaping, windows, doors, AC units, light fixtures, and hardscape are masked and covered. The Sanctuary Protocol — our White-Glove protection standard — means your property is treated with the same care as the stucco itself. Overspray damage is not a phone call we ever make.
Step Three
Every crack is assessed, classified, and repaired before any coating is applied. Hairline cracks get elastomeric caulk. Moderate cracks are opened, cleaned, packed, and bridged with mesh. Damaged or hollow sections are removed and rebuilt. Re-caulking at every window perimeter, door frame, and utility penetration is completed here — the #1 source of stucco moisture failure.
Step Four
This is the step most painters skip — and the one that defines whether your stucco paint job lasts. Our elastomeric base coat is applied at 10–20 mils of dry film thickness, four to five times thicker than standard paint. It bridges remaining hairline cracks, creates a continuous protective membrane, and is selected specifically for a high Perm-Rating — allowing the stucco to breathe while creating a highly water-resistant barrier.
Step Five
Two full coats of Sherwin-Williams® Emerald or Benjamin Moore® Aura acrylic exterior — the premium products engineered for Florida’s UV intensity, humidity, and thermal cycling. The finish coat delivers the color, UV resistance, and cleanability that the elastomeric base coat alone doesn’t provide. Two coats are applied regardless of color. One coat on stucco is never enough.
Step Six
Every elevation is inspected systematically under raking light for holidays, thin spots, and caulk line quality before we consider the job complete. All masking is removed, the property is cleaned, and a final walkthrough is conducted with you before we pack up. We don’t consider the job done until you do — and your property leaves cleaner than we found it.

What We Repair · Jacksonville & Northeast Florida
Our 6-step process tells you how we work. This section tells you what we actually repair on Jacksonville stucco homes — the specific issues we identify, document, and fix before any coating goes on.
Category 1
Identifying and sealing the cracks, joints, and damaged areas that allow moisture into the wall system.
Category 2
Blending repaired areas into the surrounding stucco so the patch disappears under paint.
Category 3
The specialized areas that determine whether your paint job looks finished or sloppy at close range.
ⓘ How Our Stucco Repairs Work
A New Leaf Painting performs stucco repairs as part of full exterior painting projects — not as standalone repair-only or touch-up work. Every repair is documented in your written estimate with line-item pricing, so you know what each fix costs before work begins.
Inspection Checklist
Before we quote a stucco paint job, our team walks the home looking for the issues that can compromise a new coating system. Each item identified is documented and addressed in your written estimate.
Common Questions
The questions Jacksonville homeowners ask most often about stucco repair, elastomeric coatings, and exterior painting.
Yes. A New Leaf Painting repairs cracks and moisture damage first. Painting over damaged stucco traps moisture against the wall and can cause the new paint to fail early.
No. Cracks and damaged stucco should be repaired, sealed, and properly prepared before painting. Painting over visible cracks may hide them temporarily, but moisture can still enter the wall and the new paint can fail early.
Yes. A proper stucco repair should be blended with the surrounding texture before primer and finish paint are applied. Without texture matching, the patched area can show through the paint as a visible mismatch — even after the home is fully repainted.
Sandy soils, settlement, wind-driven rain, UV exposure, temperature swings, failed caulk joints, sprinkler overspray, and impact damage all contribute to stucco cracking and coating failure on Florida homes over time.
Elastomeric is a coating applied roughly 5 to 8 times thicker than standard exterior paint. It forms a flexible membrane that bridges hairline cracks, flexes with temperature changes, and adds a layer of protection against wind-driven rain on stucco surfaces.
Most Jacksonville stucco painting projects range from $3,500 to $15,000, depending on home size, complexity, and the coating system selected. Stucco repairs typically add $500 to $5,000 based on the amount of damage. Every estimate includes line-item pricing so you know what each repair and coating costs before work begins.
For homes facing direct sun or coastal salt air, the self-cleaning technology in Emerald Rain Refresh can help reduce mildew buildup and surface dirt accumulation over time. We recommend it on a case-by-case basis based on the home’s exposure and the homeowner’s long-term maintenance preferences.
No. A New Leaf Painting performs stucco repairs as part of full exterior painting projects, not standalone repair-only or touch-up work. This focused scope is what allows one crew, one schedule, and one company to be accountable for the repair, prep, primer, and paint together.
