Once again, the weather forecast predicted cold weather "armageddon" for the Southeast, and once again, things weren't that bad. That's the difference between predicting weather and predicting the next year's paint colors: If you forecast the wrong weather, you get another chance the next day. When it comes to choosing paint colors for your house, you don't get that option. We understand: You want paint colors that will feel current for years to come. That's why we've compiled a few of the hottest (and coolest) interior paint colors and painting trends for 2015. You can count on these to create the right color climate in your home for years to come.
Behr has some innovative suggestions for choosing paint colors in 2015. They have several color palettes to choose from. You can work within each of these palettes (we especially love their Social Brights!) to create the perfect vibe for your room. Once you've chosen your primary wall paint colors, choose other hues from the appropriate palette for accents. Then, finish the room with complementary accessories to finish the look. To add visual interest, try adding accessories with repetitive texture.
If you're a fan of Benjamin Moore paint colors, check out their 2015 Color of the Year, "Guilford Green." It's an earthy, neutral green that has a hint of silver. It's vibrant and fresh feeling, but it's also subtle enough for large surfaces. Go monochromatic on the walls, then try a unique shade of white on your trim - we recommend their Chantilly Lace or Pink Damask.
Looking to spark some creativity in your home or home office? Try "Coral Reef," one of our favorite new Sherwin Williams paints! It's a hue that's simultaneously mild and intense, so it's ideal for accents. And when you combine it with an accessory with a matte brass finish, you'll get a great vibe that's the perfect balance of modern and antique. (Don't thank us for that last suggestion - thank the folks at Sherwin Williams!)
