How It Works

Your Satisfaction Is Built Into the Process

The guarantee is not something that only kicks in after a problem. It is built into every step of how we work — beginning before we quote a single number.

1
Written Estimate
The Guarantee & Warranty Terms Are in Writing

Your Iron-Clad Guarantee and the specific workmanship warranty for your project — term, coverage, and any upgrade options — are documented in your written estimate before you commit.

2
Project Process
Every Job Follows the Same Proven Process

Surface preparation appropriate to the substrate, premium products selected for the surface and exposure, daily cleanup, and crew-leader communication. The guarantee is backed by process — not hope.

3
Final Walkthrough
We Walk the Project With You

Before final payment, your crew leader completes a final walkthrough with you and addresses documented workmanship concerns included in the approved scope.

If Something Isn’t Right
We Make It Right

If a workmanship concern within the approved scope remains unresolved after reasonable corrective efforts, the remedy outlined in our Iron-Clad Guarantee applies. The full terms are provided in your written estimate and warranty documents.

🛡

The Iron-Clad Guarantee

A Written Commitment — Not a Marketing Claim

Our Iron-Clad Guarantee is simple: your project is not complete until the workmanship in your approved scope meets the standard set in your proposal. We respond promptly to any concern and continue working with you through a reasonable corrective process until that standard is met.

The guarantee, the workmanship warranty, and their conditions and exclusions are included in writing on the estimate for your specific project — so you know exactly what is covered before work begins. Your signed proposal and warranty documents are the final authority on coverage.

Written Workmanship Warranty

What Our Painting Covers & How Long

Beyond the guarantee, every project is backed by a separate written workmanship warranty. The term depends on scope and product system, and is specified in your estimate before work begins.

Interior Painting

2–5
Year Workmanship Warranty

Exact term specified in your written estimate. Scope, surface condition, and products used all factor in.

This Warranty Covers
Peeling or adhesion failure due to our preparation
Workmanship-related defects in application
Blistering or chipping caused by our process
Application issues affecting the final finish
Ceiling repairs: 12-month workmanship warranty on all ceiling repair work.

Exterior Painting

5–10
Year Workmanship Warranty

Standard is 5 years. Upgrade to 7 or 10 years based on product system — listed as line-item options on every exterior estimate.

This Warranty Covers
Peeling, blistering, or adhesion failure from our work
Workmanship defects in preparation or application
Failures caused by our preparation process
Chipping or cracking caused by our application
Stucco & wood repairs: 12-month workmanship warranty on all repair work we perform.

Exterior Warranty Upgrade Options

Every exterior estimate includes line-item options to upgrade coverage based on the product system you choose:

5
Years
Standard
Premium acrylic exterior system
7
Years
SW Duration®
Enhanced UV & mildew resistance
10
Years
SW Emerald®
Maximum Florida climate protection

One source of truth: Warranty term, coverage, exclusions, and any optional upgrades are identified in the written proposal for the specific project. Coverage applies only to the surfaces, preparation, products, and workmanship included in the approved scope.

What We Evaluate Before We Quote

A warranty is only as good as the preparation and products behind it. Before we recommend a system, we assess the conditions that affect how a Florida paint job performs over time.

What We EvaluateWhy It Matters
Sun & UV exposureProduct and color choice can affect long-term appearance and fade resistance.
Humidity & shadeSurface cleaning, dry time, and coating selection all matter in humid, shaded conditions.
Rain & moistureFailed caulk, leaks, and damaged substrates should be identified before painting.
Coastal exposureSalt air, wind-driven rain, and exterior condition can change the recommended system.
Stucco, wood & trim conditionRepairs may be needed before any coating is applied.
Existing coating conditionAdhesion, chalking, peeling, and prior paint layers affect the prep required.

Where Our Warranty Applies — and Where It Doesn’t

The exclusions below are standard industry conditions. We explain them up front so you understand why preparation matters so much.

What Is Covered

Peeling, blistering, or chipping caused by our workmanship
Adhesion failures from our preparation process
Application defects affecting the finish quality
Workmanship issues on the surfaces we painted
Repairs to specific areas where a covered failure occurred
i

What Falls Outside

Normal wear and tear or UV-driven color fade
Structural defects, settling, or substrate movement
Moisture intrusion from leaks or structural failures
Stucco cracks forming or reappearing after painting
Work or materials not supplied by A New Leaf Painting

Why these exclusions exist: Each represents a condition that exists independent of the paint system. Structural movement, moisture intrusion, and substrate failure cannot be resolved by any coating alone — which is exactly why we identify and repair underlying issues before painting begins.

Frequently Asked Questions

Warranty & Guarantee Questions — Answered

Can’t find your answer? Call or text (904) 615-6599.

The Iron-Clad Guarantee covers your overall satisfaction with the workmanship in your approved scope — if a covered concern remains after reasonable corrective efforts, the remedy outlined in your written guarantee applies. The workmanship warranty is a separate, time-limited commitment covering specific defects in our preparation and application — peeling, blistering, adhesion failure — for 2 to 5 years on interior projects and 5 to 10 years on exterior projects. Both are included in writing on your estimate.

Call or text us at (904) 615-6599. We will respond promptly, assess the issue, and schedule any covered repair. To keep your warranty valid you will need your original contract and proof of payment in full. Warranty repairs are performed on the specific areas where a covered defect occurred, to the level of preparation described in your original contract.

Every exterior estimate includes line-item upgrade options — from the standard 5-year warranty to a 7-year warranty with Sherwin-Williams Duration® or a 10-year warranty with Sherwin-Williams Emerald®. The options and their costs are itemized in your written estimate before you commit, so you can choose the level of protection that fits your goals and budget.

Painting over stucco does not prevent existing or future cracks from forming or reappearing — this is a characteristic of stucco as a material, not a function of the paint or our workmanship. Stucco cracks that form or reappear after painting fall outside the workmanship warranty. Requests outside warranty coverage can be evaluated as a separate service visit, and any applicable trip charge or repair cost is explained before work is scheduled. We are transparent about this during the estimate for any home with stucco surfaces.

Paint can be closely matched but rarely perfectly — environmental conditions, UV exposure, and the aging of existing paint all affect how colors read over time. Warranty repairs address workmanship defects, not exact color matching between new and aged paint. If color consistency is a priority, we generally recommend repainting the full affected surface rather than a spot repair, and we will advise you of this during the estimate.

A New Leaf Painting provides the same written workmanship warranty and Iron-Clad Guarantee terms for approved projects throughout Jacksonville and Northeast Florida. Coverage depends on the specific scope, product system, surface condition, and terms listed in your signed proposal. See our service areas for the communities we cover.
